Ardian Engagement
How we encourage everyone at Ardian to get involved
We have always believed in donating time and skills as well as money. That is why, from day one, mentoring young people became such an important part of the way we contribute.
As Ardian has grown to more than 1,100 people and our list of charity partners has expanded, we have developed new ways to help employees take action and define their personal approach to philanthropy.
Our engagement programs are there to remind us all that we are not powerless – together we can make an impact.
Our Act4Change program
Act4Change gives Ardian’s employees an easy way to get involved in volunteering. It is being rolled out across all Ardian’s offices, starting with the largest: Paris, London and New York.
Ardian supports the Act4Change program by giving every employee three extra days of paid leave per year that they can spend volunteering. The program offers regular opportunities to work with our partner charities – but employees can also use their paid volunteering days to support their own causes.
We organize a variety of opportunities throughout the year for employees to volunteer with our partners, including:
Citizen Days
A group of 10 or more employees provides on-the-ground help for a charity for half a day. Activities include help with cultural visits for children, supporting pupils with learning or helping with renovation projects.
Volunteering Days
Employees host groups of scholars visiting Ardian’s offices and support secondary school pupils on work experience with the firm.
Pro Bono Days
Around 10 employees with varied professional skills work for a day with a partner charity to draw up an action plan addressing a challenge that the organization faces.
Mentoring
Individual employees agree to become mentors, providing ongoing advice and support for a young person chosen by our partner charities.
Alongside these structured activities, Act4Change provides a range of other opportunities to support the Foundation’s goals, including visiting schools, helping young people prepare for job interviews, taking seats on the board of our charities and becoming involved in the management of the Foundation itself.
Alongside our program of Citizen Days, Pro Bono Days etc., we also give all employees access to the Act4Change online platform, where they can register and choose from a wide range of volunteering opportunities.
We see the Act4Change program as a powerful way to enable people at Ardian to put their values into practice and support charities that are working to empower individuals in underserved communities.
Our Employee Charities program
As well as encouraging Ardian’s employees to donate their time and professional skills to help our partners, we fund their own charitable projects.
These range from actions to combat breast cancer to charities addressing environmental and disability challenges. Although many of the causes are outside our remit, our overriding goal is to incentivize people to get involved.
Since 2016 our Employee Charities program has been matching the funds raised by our employees for the causes they care most about.
We supported more than 50 projects led by employees during 2025, including several that take place every year such as charity sports events. Since 2016, we have funded 230 employee projects.
During 2025, we donated more than €5,800,000 of matching funds through our Employee Charities program.
57 projects supported in 2025
238 funded employee projects since 2016
500K€ donated matching funds in 2025
